WEDNESDAY OF THE FIRST WEEK IN LENT – Lk 11:29-32 – THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE

As the crowds increased, Jesus said, “This is a wicked generation. It asks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah (Lk 11 29-32)

As the crowds increased, Jesus said, “This is a wicked generation. It asks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah (Lk 11 29-32)

READING OF THE DAY

A reading from the Book of Jonah
Jon 3:1-10

The word of the LORD came to Jonah a second time:
“Set out for the great city of Nineveh,
and announce to it the message that I will tell you.”
So Jonah made ready and went to Nineveh,
according to the LORD’s bidding.
Now Nineveh was an enormously large city;
it took three days to go through it.
Jonah began his journey through the city,
and had gone but a single day’s walk announcing,
“Forty days more and Nineveh shall be destroyed,”
when the people of Nineveh believed God;
they proclaimed a fast
and all of them, great and small, put on sackcloth.

When the news reached the king of Nineveh,
he rose from his throne, laid aside his robe,
covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in the ashes.
Then he had this proclaimed throughout Nineveh,
by decree of the king and his nobles:
“Neither man nor beast, neither cattle nor sheep,
shall taste anything;
they shall not eat, nor shall they drink water.
Man and beast shall be covered with sackcloth and call loudly to God;
every man shall turn from his evil way
and from the violence he has in hand.
Who knows, God may relent and forgive, and withhold his blazing wrath,
so that we shall not perish.”
When God saw by their actions how they turned from their evil way,
he repented of the evil that he had threatened to do to them;
he did not carry it out.

GOSPEL OF THE DAY

From the Gospel according to Luke
Lk 11:29-32

While still more people gathered in the crowd, Jesus said to them,
“This generation is an evil generation;
it seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it,
except the sign of Jonah.
Just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites,
so will the Son of Man be to this generation.
At the judgment
the queen of the south will rise with the men of this generation
and she will condemn them,
because she came from the ends of the earth
to hear the wisdom of Solomon,
and there is something greater than Solomon here.
At the judgment the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation
and condemn it,
because at the preaching of Jonah they repented,
and there is something greater than Jonah here.”

THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYONE

Dear people of God,
Today, the Word of God tells everyone that since Adam and Eve disobeyed God, sin has spread throughout the earth. The devil is always lurking around, tempting people to sin. They cause death, war, incest, and all kinds of suffering.
However, God always loves, cares for, and protects people everywhere, at all times, in every period, and in every era.
God sent numbers of prophets, ancestors, and prophecies to humanity to teach humanity the Word of God and call everyone to repent, return to God, and live in love and forgiveness, as our ancestors Abraham, Joseph the Egyptian, Noah, King David, King Solomon, and many other prophets did, including the prophet Jonah mentioned in today’s Word of God.
Despite this, people still commit a large number of sins. People rebel against God by worshiping foreign gods. They worship gods that are unable to laugh or speak.
God fulfilled his promise: He sent the Savior, the Son of God, to come to earth to become a human, die, and then resurrect after three days to save humanity from sin and save people from the captivity of Satan. Nevertheless, humans’ evil sin was to kill the Son of God himself, that was Satan’s plan.
However, it is the death and resurrection of the Son of God that represents God’s victory over Satan.
Moreover, God permitted the apostles, priests, and saints to continue preaching the Word of God, but they were all killed and eliminated.
In today’s era, God has chosen Chu Thien Thuong as an instrument used by God to write the Word of God, the Realistic Word of God, to call people to repent, abandon their sinful ways, return to God, and live in accordance with the wise teachings of God in the Bible, which is the eternal Word of God.
God lets everyone know that this era, is the era of the Holy Spirit working to help people live the Word of God. When a person knows how to run to God, and knows to run to the people God uses, that is wisdom.
As God knows in this era, Satan is increasingly rampant in the world to tempt, to draw people away from God, and to steal souls into their hands.
Therefore, God always loves and wants to save humans from Satan’s hands, so He uses Chu Thien Thuong to write the words of God the Father to teach humans, helping people live exactly as God teaches them to fight against Satan, and repel the temptations and enticements of satan so that humanity will experience less war, hatred, death, and suffering caused by human sins.
Today, God instructs and calls everyone to become awakened and return to God; Be awake, return, and unite with the people God uses in this era to be with God and have eternal life in the future.
As in the past, the Queen of the South traveled from the ends of the earth to seek the wisdom of King Solomon, God’s chosen one, so today anyone who is wise is advised to turn to Chu Thien Thuong.
God chooses and uses Chu Thien Thuong to write the words of God the Father to help people convert their lives, return, and live according to God’s teachings in the Bible to gain eternal life, which is the ultimate goal that mankind needs to achieve.

Thanks Be to God. Amen.
