READING OF THE DAY
A reading from the Book of the Acts of the Apostles
Acts 22:30; 23:6-11
Wishing to determine the truth
about why Paul was being accused by the Jews,
the commander freed him
and ordered the chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin to convene.
Then he brought Paul down and made him stand before them.
Paul was aware that some were Sadducees and some Pharisees,
so he called out before the Sanhedrin,
“My brothers, I am a Pharisee, the son of Pharisees;
I am on trial for hope in the resurrection of the dead.”
When he said this,
a dispute broke out between the Pharisees and Sadducees,
and the group became divided.
For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection
or angels or spirits,
while the Pharisees acknowledge all three.
A great uproar occurred,
and some scribes belonging to the Pharisee party
stood up and sharply argued,
“We find nothing wrong with this man.
Suppose a spirit or an angel has spoken to him?”
The dispute was so serious that the commander,
afraid that Paul would be torn to pieces by them,
ordered his troops to go down and rescue Paul from their midst
and take him into the compound.
The following night the Lord stood by him and said, “Take courage.
For just as you have borne witness to my cause in Jerusalem,
so you must also bear witness in Rome.”

Jn 17:20-26
Lifting up his eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed saying:
“I pray not only for these,
but also for those who will believe in me through their word,
so that they may all be one,
as you, Father, are in me and I in you,
that they also may be in us,
that the world may believe that you sent me.
And I have given them the glory you gave me,
so that they may be one, as we are one,
I in them and you in me,
that they may be brought to perfection as one,
that the world may know that you sent me,
and that you loved them even as you loved me.
Father, they are your gift to me.
I wish that where I am they also may be with me,
that they may see my glory that you gave me,
because you loved me before the foundation of the world.
Righteous Father, the world also does not know you,
but I know you, and they know that you sent me.
I made known to them your name and I will make it known,
that the love with which you loved me
may be in them and I in them.”

Dear People of God,
Today’s Gospel recounts the conversation between Jesus and the Father. At the time after the Last Supper, Jesus went out to a lonely place to pray to God the Father, He offered God the Father prayers for all the people of the world. Prayer is born from the love of Jesus Christ himself for his disciples, and for all those who listen to the disciples and believe in the name of Jesus Christ, the Second Person of God who came down to earth to become a person.
Jesus prayed to God the Father for all to be one as the Father is in the Son and the Son is in the Father and all the children are in the Father. He longs for everyone to have a relationship of oneness, that is, the Father, the Son and the creatures, human beings to be one and in each other, there is always unity, close union with each other. one another as God the Father himself is united as one with God the Son. In the midst of that unity, there is the Holy Spirit and the Trinity of God who are never separate from each other in all of God’s creative and salcific works towards man.
Now, before preparing to return to God the Father, Jesus Christ was in the midst of the world with his disciples, when He prayed to God the Father saying: “I want all those you give me. when I am, they are there with me, and I don’t want to lose anyone.” It is the boundless love of Jesus Christ for humanity. He brought people back to God the Father, united with the Father into One.
Just as the Father loves humanity, so the Father himself loves the Son. He brought people into a closed circle, which is the circle of Love between God and humanity. No one in this world has such a great and infinite love as God himself. Besides Him, no one has a love like Him for people. Therefore, He wants people to live with God by the experience of daily living in close union with God. He wants man to always live and be with a Christ who died and rose again to save man. Live with the experience of God’s love for humanity, only then will humanity fear and love God above all else, and spread God’s love for itself to other souls. .
God always wants man to have a relationship of love between God and with others. God wants people to always have a two-way love, not just love for God but forget about the people around them, because man is the image of God. Therefore, all those who want to be happy with God the Father should live with a Love of God and neighbor as the image of God the Father himself for the Son and for humanity. That is the most noble and perfect love that God calls people to live in terms of the two most important commandments: to love God above all else and to love one’s neighbor as yourself. One with God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Remain in His Church, which is the body of Christ, which always has one God. Be godly and worship only one God.
