READING OF THE DAY
A reading from the Book of the prophet Micah
MI 2:1-5
Woe to those who plan iniquity,
and work out evil on their couches;
In the morning light they accomplish it
when it lies within their power.
They covet fields, and seize them;
houses, and they take them;
They cheat an owner of his house,
a man of his inheritance.
Therefore thus says the LORD:
Behold, I am planning against this race an evil
from which you shall not withdraw your necks;
Nor shall you walk with head high,
for it will be a time of evil.On that day a satire shall be sung over you,
and there shall be a plaintive chant:
“Our ruin is complete,
our fields are portioned out among our captors,
The fields of my people are measured out,
and no one can get them back!”
Thus you shall have no one
to mark out boundaries by lot
in the assembly of the LORD.
GOSPEL OF THE DAY
From the Gospel according to Matthew
MT 12:14-21
The Pharisees went out and took counsel against Jesus
to put him to death.When Jesus realized this, he withdrew from that place.
Many people followed him, and he cured them all,
but he warned them not to make him known.
This was to fulfill what had been spoken through Isaiah the prophet:Behold, my servant whom I have chosen,
my beloved in whom I delight;
I shall place my Spirit upon him,
and he will proclaim justice to the Gentiles.
He will not contend or cry out,
nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets.
A bruised reed he will not break,
a smoldering wick he will not quench,
until he brings justice to victory.
And in his name the Gentiles will hope.

GOD’S TEACHINGS
Dear People of God,
The Word of God today speaks of God’s immense love and mercy for all mankind: “A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick, he will not quench.”
God sees man who is full of sins and imperfections before Him, but He does not bear to let human souls suffer before Satan’s domination and captivity. Therefore, God humbled himself to become a human in order to be with, to accompany and to save man from Satan’s captivity through his death and resurrection. The love of God the Father is manifested in His only Son, Jesus Christ. There is no one in the whole earth who has a greater love than the love of God the Father. Although Jesus Christ was persecuted and killed by human beings, He always opens His arms and loving heart to welcome sinners who repent and return to God who will comfort, support them, and heal the wounds of Satan.
The love of God is clearly seen in the image of Jesus healing all sicknesses and diseases to all who believe in His name. To those who come to Him and believe in the power of God the Father will be healed and given the Eternal Life. The main purpose of Jesus Christ who came to earth as a human is not only to heal physical diseases but to save human souls from Satan’s captivity, which is to save souls who know how to give up their sinful ways and turn back to God the Father.
Today, to continue the mission of Jesus Christ, He continues to send His apostles to preach the Good News of the Kingdom, calling people to repent and return to God the Father for being healed all sicknesses and diseases in mind and body. Whoever believes in the name of Jesus Christ will be saved.
Thanks be to God. Amen.
God bless you and peace be with you!
