READING OF THE DAY
A reading from the Book of Proverbs
Refuse no one the good on which he has a claim
when it is in your power to do it for him.
Say not to your neighbor, “Go, and come again,
tomorrow I will give,” when you can give at once.
Plot no evil against your neighbor,
against one who lives at peace with you.
Quarrel not with a man without cause,
with one who has done you no harm.
Envy not the lawless man
and choose none of his ways:
To the LORD the perverse one is an abomination,
but with the upright is his friendship.
The curse of the LORD is on the house of the wicked,
but the dwelling of the just he blesses;
When dealing with the arrogant, he is stern,
but to the humble he shows kindness.
GOSPEL OF THE DAY
From the Gospel according to Luke
Jesus said to the crowd:
“No one who lights a lamp conceals it with a vessel
or sets it under a bed;
rather, he places it on a lampstand
so that those who enter may see the light.
For there is nothing hidden that will not become visible,
and nothing secret that will not be known and come to light.
Take care, then, how you hear.
To anyone who has, more will be given,
and from the one who has not,
even what he seems to have will be taken away.”

GOD’S WORD FOR US
Dear People of God,
God’s Word in today’s Gospel, God wants to say to everyone: The Word of God is the Light that has come into the world and will be radiated to all mankind.
Jesus gave us a very specific example in human life to explain: “No one who lights a lamp conceals it with a vessel, rather, he places it on a lampstand so that those who enter may see the light.” Thanks to the light, everyone can see clearly so that we can make everything well.
God is kind and loves people, so He clearly shows people: The Word of God is the Light that must be illuminated to all mankind, and the Way leading to the eternal Kingdom of Heaven in the future. Let each one receive the Light coming from Word of God to live and put it into practice, that is: love, charity, generosity, selflessness, self-effacing, smallness and simplicity of life. God desires each of us who receives God’s grace and light to share this light and shine it on everyone around.
God also invites people to pay attention in order to listen to and put it into practice. When we listen to and acts according to God’s commandments, we will bear good fruit: peace, happiness, being filled with God’s love, and eternal life.
The Word of God today invites everyone to:
– Always listen, meditate on The Word of God, and put it into practice in life so that The Word of God is always in everyone’s heart, and they will be at peace and happy in God’s arms.
– Let’s live and practice seriously according to God’s Word, which is the Light coming into the world. Let us become a good example, help people look at our example, and believe and live according to God’s Word so that they, too, can enjoy the salvation of God.
Thanks Be to God. Amen.
